LIFEGUARDWEAR

Lately, the lifeguards have been sporting new sportswear which I hear hunters have been wearing for some time.  Just hope they don't walk into some bank wearing their sun exposure protector.  Note:  photos taken at 16th Street South Cocoa Beach, Florida.

OUR FRIEND JEDIDIAH

Jedidiah (another Biblical name for King Solomon) is the guy who gave me the nifty camera used to take pictures of our trip.  Jed made me accept his too good to be true gift saying he had acquired another camera and if I didn't take it, the camera would remain in his closet gathering dust.  So, as you now know, I accepted his awesome gift.  Thanks Jedidiah … that is if he doesn't clobber me for thanking him again, again, again, and again…..!

SUPERWOMAN

Sunday morning (13 May 2012) while warming up on the beach Lila was seen in the distance headed this way.  So, Dana hurried to the van and retrieved the camera to snap these shots of Lila.  Thanks Lila for halting your morning beach jog to allow these photos.

DRIFTWOOD

It is said that the “Driftwood” beach house was first built using timber from shipwrecks that washed ashore.  Nowadays, film crews with their models and even movie stars frequent the place.  Your’s truly even had their photos filmed as two Fort Lauderdale photographers rushed up to capture them on film.  Unfortunately, we never received a copy….

KELLY SLATER

For those of you who have never been to Cocoa Beach, Florida last year locals erected a bronze statue of Kelly Slater in the middle of highway A1A where the lanes divide when one travels south.  Kelly grew up surfing here in Cocoa Beach.  But, unlike most Cocoa Beachites, Kelly went on to win a world championship surfing title not once, or twice, but ten times.
